Lambspam II: Revenge of the Kradam

</lj-embed>
This is a video of me, every day, for the last several months.

Cute Paula/Kris/Adam clip from after the final performance, before the finale.

BOYS!!!!!

Ok, I love this like crazy.  Especially the last question, but most especially the fourth question, at about 1:17.  Let me count the ways:  a) it’s Kris who makes the WTF face that starts all the giggles, b) not like Adam didn’t know what he was saying, but he totally thought he was going to get away with it until Kris made The Face, c) Kris’ huge belly laugh (<3<3<3!!!) and d) what Adam says at the end, both the choice of words (!) and the tone of his voice.  I cannot get enough of that one.

Best Week Ever, on VH1.  This is mostly Kris, a little Adam

HA!  Because a) the premise, b) the deadpan delivery, c) glasses porn.

AND here’s the BEST INTERVIEW EVER that goes with it.
images.google.com/imgres

Massive Disclaimer:  I don’t ship them.

In fact, shipping them undercuts their whole goddamned raison d’etre.  The beauty of Adam and Kris is that they’re so different --- wildly talented, free-thinking gay man and wildly talented Christian, married, straight man --- and that they’re such good friends.

The meta part being that some fans of each guy (with a big steaming bucket of help from the media) tried to polarize them beyond that, suggesting that people vote for a religion/ideology/lifestyle rather than a singer.  These two resisted in the sweetest, most sincere, most meaningful way, which was to demonstrate their rock-solid friendship all the way through the finale and the interview circuit.

I found these in a great post by buffyx, linked below, and paraphrased a little:

Apparently, according to a friend of the Allen family, Adam painted Kris's thumbnail after the homecoming visits and removed the polish from one of his own nails, saying, “If you can carry around a piece of me, man, I can do the same for you.” The friend said, “The Allens believe Kris wears the black fingernail polish in support of Adam because he wanted Adam in the finale. Also, Kris wanted to dispel any rumors claiming the two weren’t great friends. Kris and Adam were roommates in the Idol Mansion throughout their stay."

Kris:  “There [were all these rumors] about how all the conservative, Christian people that would vote for me hate Adam and never want him to win because of who he is. Oh, it was so frustrating — really bad, because we are really good friends. Why can't everyone get along? It never made any sense for me to judge anyone, who they are. It frustrates me that people can't get along with people because of their differences. And I'll tell you what, especially Christians. Christians have a hard time accepting people like Adam — liberal, from L.A., looks different, maybe acts a certain way. He's a great, great guy. They don't even give him a chance. And it's frustrating because I come from that. A lot of my friends are not that way, which I appreciate, but a lot of people in Arkansas or in the South or wherever are that way. We really hope that our relationship can be an inspiration to people. I could go on about that forever
.”

This video is really nicely done and it has a great collection of clips, so I love it.  But the song lyrics suggest romance – that’s the only part I don’t love.  The cool thing is that they’re friends, not that they’re in love or having sex or whatever.  That would be something else entirely.  This is bromance, in the best sense: two guys with sincere, platonic love and respect for each other.  Making it something else makes me sad.

Take your insulin, here's that great spam over at buffyx , with some adorable gifs.

Very sweet. It reminds me of something I just read in Love, Bourbon Street (a collection by gay writers from New Orleans about Katrina) that took place in downstate Illinois. Now I must get it from the shelf and share.

From scottynola.livejournal.com September 7, 2005
"At Danville Il I was hungry so I pulled off the highway to head into town to go to the Arby's...there was a big guy a the counter, waiting for his order. And by big, I don't mean 'mountain-sized man built like Karl Rove'; I mena big-framed and muscular, like a football player. In fact, I was admiring his well-turned calves as I walked up the counter to place my order.
"For some reason my food was ready before his, and I went and sat down. He finally got his food and sat at a table a few away...facing me. My heart sank when I saw that his t-shirt said University of Jesus on it, and then he bowed his head and prayed before unwrapping his chicken sandwich.
"I sat there and ate my roast beef (I low me some Arby's) when he said, suddenly, "Excuse me, that's your car with the Louisiana plates, isn't it?"
""Uh huh," I nodded.
""Are you from New Orleans?"
"I again nodded.
"His face got really sad, and he said, "We're praying for all of you."
"And, being me, I couldn't help myself. I said, "Not for me, I'm gay-it's partly my fault, right?"
"And his face got angry, his jaw clenched, and I swear, I thought flames were going to shoot out of his eyes. "True Christians don'g believe that, and we pray for any one of God's children who need help."
"I thanked him as I blinked back tears, and carried my tray to dump the trash. As I pushed open the door to go outside again, he called out a blessing, and I thanked him again.
"True Christians don't believe that.
"May God go with him.
"But then I believe He already does."

Okay. You made me fall in love just a little bit here. Or maybe a lot.

Speaking of 'bromance' songs, or ones that can be used that way--I'll share a vid that I just love, because I think you'd enjoy it. Like you said, it's possible that the maker saw it a particular way, but I choose to see the friend-ship aspect, not a ship-ship aspect--kind of like we talked a bit about this weekend. I'll just post the link, not embed, because it's not AI-related. (And then I'll get on with actually clicking on your media, LOL!)

Glances That We Stole

OMG. The second BWE clip. Aside from being MADE OF EFFING WIN, he's just delightful, isn't he? Okay. You got me. I'm on the train. :-)

Woo-hoo! I've got you.

Number ONE, you're lovely for coming in and getting the stench of Idol all over you.

...there is no number two, cause these boys are ridiculously delightful, no? It's an easy sell, once people are in the door. *g*

If you haven't you really have to watch the US interview (above), question four. It really does sort of capture why I love both of them.

So now that you're in, if you have the time, you should wander over to my other Idol post, just under this one. Even if you don't feel like following the links to the performances, there are pretty pictures. :-)

Now must follow your link! (Would you believe when I clicked on it before, the screen of my laptop went BLACK? Maybe from the Awesome... I had to restart the bloody computer.) Ok, back in a sec.

OMG, such a cute vid! I loved it. Just the look on their faces when they work together -- amazing.

Did you ever see that interview sometime...last year? In either EW or TV Guide, with HL and Robert Sean Leonard. The interviewer threw the House/Wilson thing out there and RSL was a little squirmy about it, but HL walked right up and gave it a hug. He was so comfortable, having so much fun with the whole thing. I can't tell you how attractive that is to me.

On second thought, I can and I did, over drinks the other night...*g*

I think so...in the photos, they're playing with silly string? (Yeah, the H/W shippers loved *that* one, LOL!) I don't remember RSL being squirmy, but I do adore how comfortable HL is. And really--his lifelong best friend is a man who is about as gay and out as it's possible to be. So anything less wouldn't make sense. But yeah--*so* attractive. It's maturity and strength and a willingness to be open with love and affection--what's not attractive about that?

I love how they treat it on the show, too. The snark, teasing, and walking that line is such fun. The 'ship' isn't quite canon, at least not in that way, but the hoyay definitely is. It's a cute mix.

I figured you'd like the vid, and the song, too. Since it's so 'musical', I'd be surprised if someone hadn't made a K/A vid to it already.

Oh, I am all over the Kradam. In a very, very platonic sense. They're adorable together.

And I totally agree with what you said in your email. Imagine if it had been an Adam/Danny finale. Not only would it have been infuriating for Adam to come in second to someone not nearly as talented as Kris (although I still like Danny) we wouldn't have gotten the love-fest we've been treated to in the past weeks.

How awesome would it be if Kris and Adam did a duet at the concert? It probably won't happen but a girl can dream.

Well as you know, I loved this:

I'd love to hear them do the full version of this song. I think it's good for both of their voices, and they sound great in harmony.

Though stuff like this always makes me wish they'd just leave Kris alone. He's short, ok? Jeez. When they scooch him up in the video or make him stand on a box or something, it's distracting. It doesn't look like they're standing next to each other, which is what it's supposed to look like.

Oh, lord, I just read Michelle's interview. Now she's MY hero! I hope she gets to be BFFs with him. She totally deserves it.
