My favorite Faux Space Family begins its trek across wherever. Let's talk about:

- 33
- Water
- Bastille Day

Jacob never recapped this season, so there's a dearth of pith and wisdom out there and I feel like we can fix that. (Plus, "dearth of pith"? That was fun to say.)

Continuing my rewatch, I finished "33" over the weekend, and have a few random comments to toss out into the ether:

1. When the nameless guy comes over the Colonial One speaker and says everyone should prepare for their "faster than light jump", it made me think of the teaser from Galileo, which I also watched this weekend. The NASA flunky writes an intro for Jed to use in the virtual classroom which mentions twice in two sentances that they're broadcasting "live". Overstatement of facts in both cases.

2. Billy on Gaius: "Coo coo". Heh.

3. Helo looks truly horrible in this episode. I mean, Tahmoh is his usual gorgeous self, but poor Helo, he looks so desperate and tired and worn out. Nice acting (and makeup) there.

4. Why is Gaius the only one with a British accent? Jamie puts on an American one, but James is out there saying "That's just great, that is" with the accent and the sentence structure and all. I don't mind; his accent is lovely to listen to, I just find it a bit odd that, as far as I can tell, he's the only one who talks that way. Is it because he's special? :-P

Those are a few of the things that jumped out at me. Not much pith and wisdom, but oh well....

Wow, I haven't watched "33" in a while, apparently. They must have arrived at the same conclusion as you, Tuesy, since almost all the subsequent references are to "FTL" or just "get ready to jump."

If you rewatch the scene in "Dirty Hands" involving GB and Chief, you'll have your answer. :-)

That's why it jumped out at me. "Faster than light"? Well, I certainly hope so, otherwise what's the point? :-P

Ah, okay. This is why I'm rewatching. :-)

This is another one of those "I can tell you, just not here" moments. :-)

But isn't that why there's email? :-)

(I don't have a Gaius icon. This does not bother me.)
